SOUTH CARVER – Passengers relax comfortably in warm and dry coaches while riding through a spectacular holiday setting featuring an explosion of lights during the Festival of Lights at Edaville. Kids of all ages can enjoy an array of vintage amusement rides and a visit with Santa in one of the indoor play areas. The Christmas Festival of Lights hours are 4 to 9 p.m. weekdays and 2 to 9 p.m. weekends Dec. 25-30 and Jan. 1. Tickets are $18 adults and kids (ages 2-64) and $16 seniors. Children under age 2 are admitted free.
Edaville USA’s Polar Express will transport pajama-clad passengers to the North Pole, where Santa boards the train and greets the children gifting each with their own jingle bell, just as in the story. Hot chocolate and cookies are served by costumed staff while guests enjoy a live reading and carols. The Polar Express train will run Dec. 31, with trains at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Admission to the Polar Express trains is $30 per person with children under 2 riding free. Reservations are recommended for these trains as they generally sell out.
