Little girls dressed up as their favorite princesses will be helping other children by participating in the upcoming fifth annual Princess Teddy Bear Tea at Colony Place in Plymouth.

The tea is a fun-filled afternoon where little girls, who are asked to dress as princesses, will meet and be served by the “big” princesses including Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Rapunzel, Ariel, Jasmine and more. Prince Charming will escort the little princesses to their seats, where they will be served lunch and entertained with princess crafts. Maria Wood, owner of Fashion Focus in Pembroke, will conduct a mini session on learning to act like a princess, and all princesses, young and old, will enjoy dancing to princess music and more. Kids are asked to bring their favorite teddy bear to the tea with them and are also asked to take along a new teddy bear to donate to the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes will donate the bears to kids in need and will also benefit from the net proceeds from ticket sales.

The fundraiser will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Alden Park Bar and Grill.

Tickets can be purchased at the Colony Place Management Office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $35, which includes a $25 Colony Place gift card, and children’s tickets are $20, which includes a kids meal at Alden Park. Food is available for adults, too, at an additional cost.

Last year, Colony Place donated $1,000 and more than 100 bears to Jordan Hospital, according to Marketing Director Deborah Keating. It’s important, she said, that Saxon Partners be part of the community and give back to the community that shops and eats in the stores and restaurants of Colony Place.

“Being a princess isn’t just about beauty on the outside, it’s about beauty from the inside,” Keating said. We hope that the little girls who attend this event have a wonderful time, but also go home learning the importance of being good to others.

Tickets are limited and sell out every year (not available at the door). For more information, contact Colony Place at 508-746-7663 or log on to www.colonyplace.com. Copyright 2010 Wicked Local Plymouth. Some rights reserved
