Schedule a movie-night any day of the week. Now every night is a great night to see first-run independent and foreign films, as Plimoth Cinema, the in-house foreign and independent movie-theater, located in Plimoth Plantation’s Henry Hornblower II Visitor Center, is proud to announce the addition of a 7 p.m. show every night of the week. The new expanded schedule is offered in addition to the cinema’s 4:30 p.m. screenings, which have been popular since 2008. Additionally, the theater has recently upgraded the sound system for a greatly enhanced audio experience.

“Our matinee screenings have a great following, but not everyone can make it to an afternoon show in the middle of the week and weekends are often packed with other commitments,” Ben Emery, Plimoth Cinema Committee member, said. “By offering a 7 p.m. show, we are providing more opportunities for movie-goers to catch these great specialty films not widely shown in other area theaters. And with our new enhanced sound system, the experience is superior.”

Plimoth Cinema operates at 4:30 and 7 p.m. daily. Every Friday a new film comes to Plimoth Cinema and plays throughout the week (every so often a more popular selection will have an extended run of two weeks).

Saturday nights are considered “Date Night” at Plimoth Cinema, serving beer and wine along with a variety of concession items, including popcorn and traditional movie candy.

The Plimoth Cinema Club Card is just the thing for frequent film-goers. For just $10, viewers can purchase a Plimoth Cinema Club Card, which entitles them to a $1.50 discount off the purchase of Plimoth Cinema movie tickets each week.

Plimoth Cinema’s big screen is located in the Linn Theater, inside Plimoth Plantation’s Harry Hornblower II Visitor Center. The theater comfortably seats 220 guests and features surround sound, making it perfect for viewing such specialty films.

Plimoth Cinema has already scheduled some great films for the month ahead. Of course, they are some of the best, current independent and foreign films available. They include:

Vincere: May 7-13

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (encore showing): May 14-20

A Matter of Size: May 21-27

The Secret in Their Eyes: May 28 - June 10

Tickets are $9.50 for adults; $7.50 for seniors and Plimoth Plantation Museum members. Plimoth Cinema Club Card Members receive additional discounts. Those interested in receiving updates and schedules should register for the Plimoth Cinema newsletter at www.plimoth.org.

PLEASE NOTE: All Plimoth Cinema schedules are tentative, so film titles, and/or corresponding dates are subject to change. For the most up-to-date schedule, consult www.plimoth.org.
