The Plymouth Guild will start its late spring art classes for teens and children the week of May 3. These classes are a positive and fun way to encourage teens and children to get involved with art. They range from cartooning to clay, from drawing in the style of well-known artists to abstract art, where it’s all about color and shape. The guild’s class brochure lists all class details.

Terry Kole, the guild’s newest instructor, is offering Basic Drawing for Teens, with an emphasis on lighting and shading. In Terry’s other fun classes, students have a choice of imitating the style of their favorite cartoons, creating their own cartoon strip or focusing on drawing heroes and princesses – or even their friends.

Paula Turley offers an ongoing “art expressions” class as well as “green” art. Students can enroll in one or more of her Saturday morning art classes or her April vacation week classes.

There’s a kid’s clay class for ages 8-13 in the guild’s new clay area, after school art studio with Kendra D’Angora and “Painting with Monkeys,” an abstract art class.

Classes meet six to seven weeks each. Registration needs to be made at least a week prior to the start of a class. Call the guild at 508-746-7222 to learn more about the various classes and to register.

The guild is located at the Plymouth Center for the Arts, 11 North St., in Plymouth. Additional information is available at www.plymouthguild.org.
