‘Songs of Life’
A spring program of French and British music will conclude the 24th season of the Harbor Choral Arts Society at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hanover. David Williams, accompanied by Brandon Santini, will direct the chorus in singing works from C. Franck, G. Faure, L. Boulanger and C. Gounod. Yard sale fundraiser
“Kids Kickin’ Cancer” is a team of Federal Furnace Elementary School students participating in the Plymouth Relay for Life fundraiser June 22-23. Farm Day
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department is celebrating the spring season and the farm’s 25th anniversary from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Farm and Horticultural Center, on Obery Street in Plymouth. Included in this year’s festivities will be a demonstration from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, a reptile show, an opportunity to view the special law enforcement vehicles and mobile command unit used by the Sheriff’s Department and full access to the petting zoo. The first 500 visitors will receive a free T-shirt.
South Side Car Show
SkillsUSA Plymouth will host a South Side Car Show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Plymouth South High School, at 490 Long Pond Road. There will be model T’s, cars from the ‘50s and up, muscle cars, motorcycles and more. Boston Red Sox tickets will be raffled off for $10 and there will be a concession stand available, a dunk tank, moon walk and rock wall. The Plymouth Police Department’s SWAT truck and police cruiser will be available to explore from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Adopt an Artifact

Dora Atwater Millikin: A Portrait of New Bedford Harbor Today
An exhibition of new paintings titled “Dora Atwater Millikin: A Portrait of New Bedford Harbor Today” opens today at 5:30 p.m. and runs through Oct. 14, at the New Bedford Whaling Museum in the Centre Street Gallery – Level II.
With her studio in Westport Point, Millikin has studied the New Bedford waterfront for years, inspired by its busy harbor and the fishing industry. Join Herring Ponds Watershed Association members and friends for a spring bird walk along a section of the watershed that is conservation land in Bourne. Shuttles from Duxbury Bay Maritime School will start at 11 a.m. and run through 2 p.m. Take a trip to historic Gurnet Light and Fort Andrews (known as Fort Gurnet during the Revolutionary War) as well as the Coast Guard Lifesaving Station, five miles out to the end of Gurnet Point. Learn about the history of these two structures. Climb to the top of Gurnet Light and enjoy the vista of Massachusetts Bay. Plymouth’s seventh annual Hearth and Home Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring the showing of the Antiquarian Society’s top pair of most frequently requested homes ever, the Litchfield House on Warren Avenue and the repurposed GAR Hall/Boys and Girls Club on Middle Street. For one day only, you are invited to explore these exceptional private residences as well as an assortment of additional historic and contemporary local homes. This year’s Seabird and Whale Tale cruise will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., leaving from Plymouth Town Pier for the waters off Cape Cod. American Legion Post 40 will hold a Father’s Day family fishing derby at Little West Pond at 199 Federal Furnace Road, Plymouth.
