PLYMOUTH – The first day of summer in Plymouth was a beautiful one and held the promise of many more to come. Blue skies and warm temperatures beckoned people to our seaside community and many took to the water or the beaches in search of either adventure or relaxation.

One of the main reasons the Pilgrims decided to locate in Plymouth is the waterway that is referred to today as Town Brook. Town Brook is a small river that runs through the center of Plymouth for a mile and a half, and empties into the harbor next to Plymouth Rock.

Plymouth Harbor is a beautiful spot in the spring and summer. Want to go shopping? Take a walk along the waterfront and browse through the numerous shops. Hungry? Satisfy your appetite in one of the great restaurants. And when your day is through, you can relax on one of the wooden benches and take in an exquisite view as the sun sets over the harbor.

A gallery museum in the heart of Plymouth at 75 Court St., Pilgrim Hall tells the stories of America’s founding through exhibitions of authentic 17th-century Pilgrim possessions, including Peregrine White’s cradle and the earliest American-made sampler, embroidered by Loara Standish.
