PLYMOUTH - A contest was held this summer to name the new bog at the Jenney Grist Mill in Plymouth. The winning name, John Jenney's Itty Bitty Berry Bog, was submitted by Hayley Abernethy of Avondale, Pa. The Jenney Grist Mill and A.D. Makepeace Company invite you to view the new cranberry bog, located on the property adjacent to the Grist Mill. A.D. Makepeace Company donated the materials and the labor to make the bog. The turf used for the Mill's new bog came from an existing Stevens cranberry bog in Wareham. Berries are beginning to turn red and the Mill hopes to harvest its first crop of cranberries in October. The Mill is open for educational tours from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Historic walking tours and tours of the Forefathers Monument are also available. Call 508-747-4544 for reservations or for more information or visit www.jenneygristmill.org. All proceeds from the sale of tickets go towards supporting the educational programs at the Jenney Grist Mill.

Cranberry Bog Tours will be held in Wareham Oct. 12, 22 and 29. Meet at 10 a.m. at Tihonet Village Market, 146 Tihonet Road.
